iOS 26: Apple unveiled iOS 26 at its WWDC 2025 event, introducing a fresh interface and several new features like the sleek Liquid Glass design, Live Translation, an upgraded Lock Screen, and revamped Camera and Gallery apps. The announcement excited Apple fans, but it didn’t take long for Samsung to respond—with jokes.
Soon after the event, Samsung’s official U.S. account on X (formerly Twitter) fired off a series of playful tweets aimed at Apple’s latest update. The tone? Classic Samsung—sharp, cheeky, and clearly meant to remind everyone that Galaxy devices have had many of these features for a while.

One post read, “AI is coming to your watch? Cute. Ours already knows when you’re too tired to care #GalaxyAI”, referencing Apple Watch’s new AI fitness features. Another quipped, “New to live translations? Welcome aboard!”—a nod to Apple’s rollout of real-time translation, which Samsung says its Galaxy phones have been doing since last year.
Samsung also didn’t hold back when it came to iOS 26’s new visual style. “Customizable apps? Floating bars? That sleek glass look? Looks… familiar,” they tweeted, clearly alluding to similarities with their own One UI 7, launched earlier with similar design elements.
In another post, they sarcastically said, “Apple introduces Live Translation. For more info, check out our Galaxy S24 launch from 16 months ago,” further pushing the idea that Apple is playing catch-up.
Samsung wasn’t just poking fun—it was also pointing out how features like Call Screening and Hold Assist, newly added in iOS 26, bear resemblance to tools like Call Screen and Hold for Me that Google Pixel phones introduced years ago.

Interestingly, Samsung isn’t the only one throwing shade. Just last month, Google joined the fun with its “#BestPhonesForever” campaign, subtly roasting Apple over the rumored iPhone 17 design and noting how features like Night Sight, Magic Eraser, and home screen widgets all came to Pixel phones first.
As Apple continues to roll out updates, it’s clear that the competition is keeping a close watch—and isn’t afraid to call out familiar features when they see them.
