iPadOS 18 Features: At the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024, Apple unveiled iPadOS 18, which will start rolling out this fall. Apart from the Apple Intelligence and UI tweaks, a notable addition was a Calculator app for iPad with Math Notes. The Math Notes calculator will allow users to type or write mathematical expressions and watch them getting solved in their handwriting.
According to the Apple Newsroom post, users can assign values to variables while grasping new concepts, calculations and more. The company also presented a graphing feature to let users insert graphs and more. The tech giant added that Math Notes will be accessible in the Notes app within the Math Notes folder.
"With a new graphing feature, users can write or type an equation and insert a graph with just one tap, and can even add multiple equations on the same graph to see how they relate," Apple said. The basic and scientific calculators on iPads will allow easy view to complete expressions before completion. Moreover, the History will let users keep track of calculations.

"History helps users keep track of previous calculations, and unit conversions let users quickly convert length, weight, currencies, and more," Apple added. The Calculator app seems familiar to the iOS in design and supports Apple Pencil for handwritten math problems. Meanwhile, the system-based Calculator app has been missing on the iPad since its debut in 2010. With the fresh announcement, it seems the wait will end soon for a majority of users in a few months.
Meanwhile, the iPad also debuted with Smart Script for handwritten notes. The feature improves handwritten script in real-time while maintaining the essence of a user's handwriting. Moreover, the company showcased new customisations for the Home Screen and Control Center, revamped Photos app, enhancements for Messages and Safari, hide/lock apps feature, Game Mode and Apple Intelligence.
