Apple has increased the prices of three older iPhone models in India, and the timing is hard to miss. The iPhone 17, iPhone 17e and iPhone Air have all become more expensive on Apple’s website, shortly after the company unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro series and its first foldable iPhone Duo at the ‘Surprise and Shine’ event on Wednesday.

The iPhone 17 now starts at Rs. 99,900 for 256GB, compared with Rs. 82,900 when it launched last year. That is a Rs. 17,000 increase. The 512GB version is now priced at Rs. 1,24,900.

The iPhone Air has seen an even bigger jump. Its 256GB model now costs Rs. 1,49,900, while the 512GB and 1TB versions are priced at Rs. 1,74,900 and Rs. 2,24,900, respectively. At launch, those three variants cost Rs. 1,19,900, Rs. 1,39,900 and Rs. 1,59,900.

Then there is the iPhone 17e, which has received the biggest increase among the three. The 256GB model has gone from Rs. 64,900 to Rs. 79,900, while the 512GB version is now Rs. 1,04,900, up from its original Rs. 84,900 price. The iPhone 17e was launched in India on March 2.

This is not the first time Apple has raised prices this year. The company has already increased the cost of several products in India, with the latest changes coming amid the ongoing RAM and storage supply crunch. Former Apple CEO Tim Cook had reportedly indicated that the situation could lead to further price increases.

The timing also means buyers looking at older iPhones are now paying considerably more than they would have at launch. And with the new iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone Duo also arriving at higher price points, Apple’s latest move has made the entire iPhone lineup a little more expensive in India.
