iPhone 17 Series launch: Apple has unveiled a few products since the year began, and we also saw the launch much-anticipated iPhone 16e only recently, but for this year all eyes are on Apple's next in line flagship series of iPhones, the iPhone 17 series, if this is what Apple decides to call it. However, Apple's WWDC 2025 event is also going to take place shortly and is slated for June 9, which means only a few days are left for that, and here Apple is expected to reveal some big upgrades for its operating systems, which include iOS, macOS and others. We already have an article on how Apple may be rebranding the iOS 19 to iOS 26, taking a year-based approach for its naming.

With that said, this would not be the only change that the Cupertino-based tech giant might bring to the table this time, and a major shake-up of the upcoming iPhone lineup is also expected.

What Can You Expect From the iPhone 17 Series?

With WWDC 2025 just around the corner, anticipation is building for Apple’s next iPhone lineup — and it looks like the iPhone 17 series could mark one of the biggest overhauls in recent years.

According to early leaks and analyst predictions, Apple might shake things up with the introduction of a new model called the iPhone 17 Air, which is expected to take the place of the current iPhone 16 Plus. This lighter, possibly slimmer variant could reflect Apple’s ongoing shift toward sleeker, more refined devices.

But it doesn’t stop there — the iPhone 17 Pro is also rumoured to receive a significant redesign, including a brand-new camera module that may extend to the right side of the device. If true, this would be one of the boldest design changes since the iPhone X era.

Looking Further Ahead

Renowned industry analysts, such as Ming-Chi Kuo, indicate that the iPhone range is going to change even more fundamentally in the coming years. It may be that from 2026, the iPhone 18 Fold will debut along with the iPhone 18 Air and iPhone 18 Pro.

There is also speculation about a possible strategy change. Apple might shift the launch of its vanilla and affordable models, such as the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e, to March 2027 rather than the traditional fall launch time. This would be a dramatic deviation from Apple's way of launching its products.

Why the Shift Might Make Sense

As the iPhone family grows — possibly adding a foldable to increase to five from six models — whopping launch dates could enable Apple to avoid cannibalising sales from its own devices. Launching budget options at a different time might also provide Apple with more leeway to hone features and provide better specs without conflicting with flagship announcements.

Nevertheless, all of this is mere speculation. Apple hasn't officially confirmed any of these plans, so while the future holds much promise, it's best to take all these leaks with a grain of salt.
