Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max: The iPhone 18 Pro series might still be a few months away from its actual release, but leaks and rumours about it are not keeping their calm and are building expectations on what the device could showcase this time in 2026. A new report has come to the fore that claims that Apple's latest in-line flagship this year might not go for a major design overhaul, and it's being claimed that because of the success that the iPhone 17 series saw, changes might be very minimal.

Leaks on Weibo

Apple will be going for minimalist design enhancements, has been claimed by a leaker on Weibo known as Fixed Focus Digital. According to a report by Apple Insider, “The leaker describes the iPhone 17 as having been enough of a hit for Apple to be celebrating with champagne. Then Fixed Focus Digital [says] that the iPhone 18 series will not change much.”

This might not surprise many, especially those who have analysed Apple's launch cycles, as Apple usually does not get a major design overhaul in just one year of the launch cycle, and this time with the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max sporting significantly different looks from their previous models, these major design changes might not be on the anvil this time.

Although this is still not confirmed and you can still expect the smartphone maker to surprise you, looking at convention, it's quite unlikely. As far as upgrades under the hood are concerned, we might still see some significant upgrades, like the vapour chamber cooling introduced in the iPhone 17 Pro could make its way to the base iPhone 18.

As far as performance is concerned, the report adds the following: “That the A20 and A20 Pro processors expected to be in the iPhone 18 range will be significant. Or at least that they will be the most significant part of the update,” citing the leaker on Weibo. These silicones are expected to be built on TSMC's 2nm process; it is also being speculated that the RAM this time might be directly attached to or embedded with the CPU, GPU, and the Neural Engine. This could bring in faster speed and better heat management; also, this internal management will leave some extra space that Apple could utilise for a better and bigger battery.

What Else Could Change?

Another major rumour that's going around is that Apple could do away with the Dynamic Island this time, and the smartphone maker could move the Face ID components under the display. If this plan takes shape, you might get to see a punch-hole display on the corners this time, rather than the pill-shaped cutout that you have been seeing with the Dynamic Island. The feature might not vanish but could gain some quirky implements.

Apart from that, Apple might experiment with new colours as well as far as the Pro lineup is concerned; leaks suggest darker shades are being tested, like burgundy, deep purple, and what some might call coffee-brown.

For now let's tread carefully with the information, as it depends on leaks and rumors; it does create excitement, but nothing is officially confirmed by the Cupertino-based tech giant yet.
