Mid-range smartphones have now started getting a lot of attention from tech enthusiasts, especially in competitive markets like India. The few recently introduced mid-rangers are now also called the flagship killers, as they arrived with quite impressive specifications. All these phones get flagship chipsets, that too at an affordable price.  

This month, the tech industry has already witnessed a lot of smartphone launches with a few highly anticipated mid-rangers, including the OnePlus Nord 3, Nothing Phone (2) and the iQOO Neo 7 Pro. While we have already put the reviews of other phones, here is what we think about the performance phone iQOO Neo 7 Pro. 

With its powerful specifications, vibrant display, and camera capabilities, the Neo 7 Pro aims to cater to smartphone enthusiasts who demand both power and style. Let's dive into a comprehensive review of this device.

iQOO Neo 7 ProDesign And Display:

The iQOO Neo 7 Pro has a sleek and innovative design with an elegant leather back. The small-sized phone fits easily in the hand, making it suitable for one-handed use. The device offers a magnificent 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution, giving you the impression that iQOO has worked hard on the display as soon as you boot the phone.

The screen has brilliant colours, high contrast and deep blacks, resulting in a visually appealing experience for multimedia consumption, gaming and browsing. At such a low price point in a crowded segment, the phone exceeded my expectations. 

The speakers do an impressive job, but for my music streaming needs, I would want a higher-performing and louder unit. 

iQOO Neo 7 Pro Performance:

The iQOO Neo 7 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which is paired with up to 16GB of RAM. This hardware arrangement provides a smooth and responsive user experience, easily managing resource-intensive tasks and multitasking. 

The Neo 7 Pro can handle it all, whether you're gaming, streaming high-definition material, or running demanding programmes. We tested numerous games over the weekend to see if the phone could handle multitasking well, and it did most of the time. 

iQOO Neo 7 Pro Gaming And Battery Life:

The iQOO Neo 7 Pro is a video gamer's paradise. It provides a highly optimal gaming experience thanks to its improved touch sensitivity and 120Hz ultra-fast refresh rate. For more realistic gaming graphics, the device also supports HDR10+. 

Internal vapour cooling chambers are one of the features that iQOO has included to enhance the gaming experience, and after playing for three solid hours, I observed that it was doing its job well. There was no thermal throttling at all, and I was able to take out constant 45-50 fps on Ultra settings.

The Neo 7 Pro has a good 5,000 mAh battery that lasts all day (you will have to charge it before you sleep). With its clever battery management, the device should survive a full day of moderate to heavy use. When it's time to recharge, the included 120W fast charge enables lightning-fast charging, quickly bringing the battery from 0 to 100 per cent.

iQOO Neo 7 Pro Camera:

I have mixed thoughts about the triple camera setup on the Neo 7 Pro. The 50 MP Samsung GN5 sensor works well with the 8 MP ultra-wide and 2 MP macro lenses. The images we took in daylight were excellent; HDR appeared to be effective at its task. However, in low light and post-processing, the phone underperformed, causing some concerns. The ultrawide camera lacks detail capture and has loose sides. 

Speaking of the front camera, the shots were pretty much decent. However, the phone seemed to be struggling with human tones and was adding warm tones to the images where it was not even needed. 

iQOO Neo 7 Pro Software 

Funtouch OS is always enjoyable to use, and the company has taken great care to ensure that customers won't encounter any problems and have a seamless interaction with lots of customisations. However, you may find some annoying notifications, but they can be disabled.

iQOO Neo 7 Pro Verdict:

So, this might absolutely be your next phone if you're searching for a high-performance or, better yet, flagship-killing phone at a reasonable price. The device includes plenty of premium features with excellent capabilities that can offer you the upper hand over other smartphones in the category. Our observations show that it provides a superb user experience for both gaming and regular chores, supported by a bright display and a good battery life and under Rs 35,000 is a steal deal.
