JIOCINEMA, a popular video streaming platform that has gained all the attention by streaming Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) is now reportedly planning to migrate towards the paid subscription model. In a new update, the company is said to charge Rs 2 per day from the viewers soon after the IPL 2023 ends.

The company would reportedly bring three different plans which will include the daily, gold, and platinum plan. Additionally, a post from a Reddit user claims that the one-day plan would be costing a user just Rs 2, that too after the discount of 93 percent. However, the decided price is Rs 29.

On the other hand, the Gold Plan would be priced at around Rs 299 but would be initially available for all users at a price of Rs 99. The Platinum Plan which is an annual plan would be priced at Rs 1,199 but for the initial days would cost around Rs 599, claims a report. Just like Netflix, the plan would be to support the 4K Content with an ad-free experience and will be available for up to 4 devices.

Previously, Reliance's media and content business president, Jyoti Deshpande, told Bloomberg that the platform would add more than 100 films and TV shows and would now compete directly with Netflix and Amazon Prime.

She also stated that the new content will be available on the platform prior to the IPL 2023 Final. In terms of tariffs, she stated that the company intends to keep the tariffs simple for the viewers.

Meanwhile, due to the ongoing IPL 2023 season, the company is witnessing a massive crowd on the platform. For the first time, the company is streaming India's most popular T20 cricket league for free. Additionally, the company is also offering commentary in different languages including Bhojpuri, English, Hindi, and more.
