Krafton, the renowned South Korean video game company, started the India-Korea Invitational in Pragati Maidan, Delhi, setting the stage for an electrifying show of Esports skill. This event has gathered together eight talented Indian teams, including the BGIS 2023 champions, to battle against top-tier Korean teams. The competition began with heated clashes, giving Indian Esports players a platform to perfect their skills by competing against worldwide peers.
Prominent dignitaries graced the opening ceremony, including Invest India's MD and CEO, Nivruti Rai, Chang Jae-bok, the Korean ambassador to India, Piyush Jain, the Governing Board Member of the Sports Authority of India, and Shiv Sharma, the Deputy Director General of the Sports Authority of India.
"The India-Korea Invitational has kicked off with a spectacular start, marking the beginning of a showcase of talent and competition," stated Sean Hyunil Sohn, CEO of Krafton India, at the event's beginning. "Both countries share a passion for gaming, and Krafton is honoured to contribute to the formation of a comprehensive gaming ecosystem, reiterating our commitment to the expansion of the worldwide Esports community," he added.
Eight teams from India and eight from South Korea engaged in furious combat on the opening day of the tournament, which kicked off with competitive games in BGMI, Road To Valour: Empires, and a real cricket challenge. Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, the custodian for the Indian national football team, and Sunita Duggal, an honourable member of parliament from Sirsa, Haryana, also visited to encourage the athletes and show their support.

The invitational event offered a stage for a comprehensive interchange of information and culture, with displays from Krafton's invested companies, such as Nautilus Mobile and Bobble AI, as well as involvement from other well-known Korean businesses.
