Cloud gaming on TVs has always felt a little half-baked in India. Until now. LG has just flipped the switch on something much bigger: a dedicated Gaming Portal that turns its webOS Smart TVs (2021–2025 models) into full-blown gaming machines, no console required. And with the Xbox app baked right into the interface, LG is positioning its TVs as one-stop entertainment hubs where you can stream thousands of titles instantly.
LG’s Gaming Portal turns your TV into a cloud-gaming device
Rollout will occur through software updates to compatible TVs in each city. Once these reach home, the Gaming Portal will appear as part of their home screen alongside your usual apps. All that remains for success?
- An Xbox Game Pass subscription
- A compatible Bluetooth controller
- Stable, high-speed internet
That’s it. No console, no downloads, no discs.
Titles like Forza Horizon 5, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and Raji: An Ancient Epic can all be played directly over Xbox Cloud Gaming.

A unified gaming hub with thousands of titles
LG says the Gaming Portal pulls together content from multiple cloud partners. Globally, that means access to:
- 4,000+ cloud-streamed games
- 600+ free-to-play titles
The interface lets you browse, launch and jump into games instantly — turning the TV into the only device you need.
Built for cloud gaming from the hardware upward
LG’s recent Smart TV models aren’t just jumping on the cloud-gaming trend — they’re designed for it. Depending on the model, you get:
- G-Sync compatibility
- AMD FreeSync Premium
- Up to 165Hz variable refresh rate
- 0.1ms pixel response time (Intertek-certified)
- Clear MR 10000 for improved motion clarity
These features help shrink input lag, limit tearing, and keep fast-moving visuals smooth — which is exactly what cloud-gaming demands.
Why this matters
For India, this is a sizeable shift. Cloud gaming has struggled here because consoles are expensive and gaming PCs even more so. LG’s Gaming Portal lowers the barrier dramatically. If the internet connection is good, anyone with a compatible TV can play AAA titles instantly.

It’s another step toward the inevitable future: gaming that doesn’t need hardware boxes at all — just a screen and a fast connection. LG’s new portal quietly makes that reality feel a lot closer.
