Paytm just added a feature that a lot of users have quietly wanted for years: the ability to hide specific payments from your main transaction history. It doesn’t delete anything. It simply tucks selected payments into a locked section so they’re not visible to anyone casually scrolling through your phone.
For people who share devices, make sensitive purchases, or just want a cleaner view of their financial activity, this is a genuinely useful update. Paytm says it built the feature after repeated requests for better privacy controls, and it’s calling itself the first UPI app to offer it.
How Hide Payments works
Hiding transactions will move them to a protected section within Balance & History for easy access at any time, but only after first unlocking them with either PIN or biometric authentication on your phone. By doing this, these transactions remain undamaged – no edits, deletes or losses in data occur.

Part of Paytm’s wider app revamp
The Hide Payments feature arrives shortly after Paytm rolled out a cleaner, lighter redesign of the app. The new version adds faster navigation, AI-powered spending insights, better search tools for old transactions, and easier bank setup. And yes, the digital gold rewards for everyday payments continue.
Why this update matters
UPI has seen tremendous growth across India, yet privacy controls have not kept pace. Paytm's move provides users with an effective solution for hiding sensitive payments while still keeping a record. Though small, this thoughtful update provides real solutions.
