MacBook Air M4 Update: Apple will soon unveil its new MacBook Air M4 this week the company confirmed in a social media post on Monday, after months of staying in the shadows, something Apple fans have been very eagerly waiting for. The laptop is expected to come with a 13-inch and a 15-inch model, which will be the successors of the MacBook Air M3 which came out in March 2024. If we believe in rumours then this latest series laptop will feature support for Apple Intelligence.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Apple CEO Tim Cook shared a teaser video accompanied by the text, “There's something in the AIR.” This suggests the upcoming launch of the new MacBook Air featuring the M4 chipset. The company is likely to keep the same design as the current model, with the primary update being the new processor.

Display-wise the M4 might come with the same Liquid Retina display with slight chances of Apple introducing the nano-texture coating, which is there in the current MacBook Pro (2024). The company might also go for an upgrade from the existing Thunderbolt 3 ports to the Thunderbolt 4 ports on the supposed upcoming MacBook Air models.

It is expected to support Apple Intelligence as far as speculations tell us, and with that, it can also be expected that these new models have at least 8GB of RAM, which is the smartphone makers' standard for utilizing its AI suite.

The rumored chip upgrade was initially reported by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman in October 2024, and the same journalist recently revealed the expected launch timeline. Following this, an M4-powered Mac Studio reportedly codenamed J575, is expected to debut between March and June.

Currently, there is no word on the upgrade of the MacBook Pro chip to the M4 family, but we might get a clearer picture when the MacBook Air M4 makes its first appearance.
