Meta Threads, a recently introduced text-based social media platform, which has been reported to losing a slew of active users on the platform, has now started rolling out a new Keyword Search to more countries in order to improve the enhanced user experience. For those unaware, the feature was under testing in Australia and New Zealand, and now it is coming to India.

Apart from India, Argentina, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and the United States are also getting this feature soon. This tool allows users to execute customised keyword searches on the platform's mobile and browser versions.

The business revealed that keyword search is now available in both English and Spanish, recognising that these languages are widely spoken in the nations where it is being carried out initially. Furthermore, Meta stated that it plans to bring this feature to other languages and nations in the future, demonstrating its dedication to global expansion.

Mark Zuckerberg, Meta's Founder and CEO, announced the extended keyword search feature in a post on the platform. He highlighted that the rollout is only the beginning and hinted at future improvements. "Today, most English and Spanish-speaking countries are getting it. "There will be more soon," he promised.

Threads has encountered difficulties despite its bright start. The platform gained 50,000 daily active users in the initial days of July on Android. However, the report now suggests that the user count has dropped to 10 million which is reportedly ten times less than X user base. Furthermore, users are spending substantially less time on the app, with daily usage falling by more than 80 per cent since its high in early July.

Threads was an instant hit, with over 10 million individuals signing up within seven hours following its July 5 opening. The software even surpassed 100 million users on its first day, becoming the most downloaded non-game app in a decade.
