WhatsApp, a Meta-owned messaging platform, tests news features for users across its Android and iOS app with subsequent updates. The company recently started the rollout of Meta AI on WhatsApp in India and has been working in beta to enhance the user experience. In the latest move, the company is developing a feature to manage Meta AI voice, according to WABetaInfo. The ioption was spotted in the works in the Android beta '2.24.17.3' build.

According to the report, the feature is not ready for release in the beta channel. The company was earlier spotted working on a voice chat mode feature to allow communication via real-time voice. This would allow hands-free communication for complex queries. To improve this experience once it starts rolling out, Meta AI is working on more options within Meta AI voice options.

The features will include the option to "convert speech to text" with the "Captions and transcription" toggle. This will allow easy conversion of spoken dialogues into text for easy readability. This could help more people who are facing hearing impairments or may choose to read over listening such as in public environments.

Moreover, the feature will also include the "Speech output" option with three presets. This will include "Full", "Brief" and "Off". The "Full" option may allow Meta AI to spill out comprehensive responses to queries. This may be helpful when a detailed response is desired in case of a complex response. The "Brief" mode may deliver short and crisp answers to deliver information and save time for the reader.

The customisation may allow for more personalised responses based on the requirements of a Meta AI user. Meanwhile, users must keep their app updated to ensure they receive the option at the earliest. The company is also working on a feature to share voice notes with Meta AI.
