JE Technology Desk: Instagram-backed Threads which was recently introduced as the Twitter rival is confirmed to get a lot of new features including the following tab, and edit button later this week. However, it already has a lot of features which it carries from Meta’s popular photo-sharing application. For those unaware, both Instagram and Threads have a rage shake feature using which the users can easily report their problems.
The rage-shaking feature first appeared in 2021. To use the feature, users must shake their smartphones vigorously, and a new popup will emerge where they may report their difficulties. Meta asks the users if anything is wrong with the pop-up. Users can also report an issue by selecting the option. The popup also instructs users on how to report abuse or spam. Furthermore, the popup gives the user the option to turn off or on the fury shake feature.
The following feed, editing, multiple accounts, post search, hashtags, web presence, like list, and translations are among the new features coming to Threads, according to Instagram Head Adam Mosseri, who made the announcement in a video on Wednesday.
According to his post, users now have the ability to control who can reply to their threads. Before posting a new thread, users can choose from three options: Anyone, Profiles you follow, or Mentioned only. This new feature allows users to customise their thread's interaction and engagement based on their preferences and desired level of participation.

Mosseri stated on Tuesday that the business is "pumped" to begin distributing Threads upgrades this week. On July 6, Meta released Threads for iOS and Android users in 100 countries. It is currently one of the most popular free apps on the App Store. The application has broken the record of OpenAI’s ChatGPT in getting the most number of sign-ups within a few days.
