Twitter rival Threads, which was recently launched by social media giant Meta has now rolled out a major update and introduced a slew of new features and improvements for its heavy user base. As promised by the company, the platform now has the following tab on the activity feed, a translation feature and more.
The all-new following tab feature will allow users to see a list of people who have recently followed them while the translation feature enables users to translate the content within the application. However, the new update is limited to iOS users.
"New @threadsapp iOS update dropped today!" said Cameron Roth, an Instagram development engineer, in a Threads post. "Take a look at what we've been working on," he added. In addition to the follows tab and languages, the update includes the ability to subscribe to unfollowed persons and browse the Instagram followers list directly from the app.
Roth also emphasised changes that improved the user experience overall, including the scrolling and loading of the activity stream. To further improve the functioning of the app, the update also adds "tappable reposter labels" and a "following + on thread replied page" feature.
In this version, the company has also addressed a few minor problem issues with modest crash fixes. As the deployment of some features may depend on server-delivered flags that may take some time to properly roll out, Roth encouraged users to restart the app or wait until the end of the day to see all the new capabilities.

1. Translations!
2. Follows tab on the activity feed
3. Subscribe to unfollowed users
4. Activity feed scrolling -+ loading improvements
5. Following + on the thread replies page
6. Tappable reposter labels
7. Open the IG followers list
8. A few small crash fixes
9. More binary size cuts
10. A handful of other small bugs
