Meta unveiled its long-awaited API (Application Programming Interface) for Threads, allowing developers to create experiences around it. Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and CEO of Meta, also shared the development on Threads.
"The Threads API is now widely available, and coming to more of you soon," he stated.
Jesse Chen, an engineer at Threads, says that the new API will let developers publish articles, retrieve their own material, and implement reply management features. This means that developers can let users react to particular answers or conceal or reveal specific replies.
The business also stated in a blog post that developers will be able to access statistics including metrics like the number of views, likes, comments, reposts, and quotes at the account and media level.
Threads launched its own fact-checking initiative last month to rank misleading content on the network. In a thread on Threads, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri revealed this new development.
In the meantime, Threads has topped 150 million monthly active users, up from 130 million in February, and Meta presently has 3.24 billion family daily active people (DAP) on average across its numerous apps, a 7% increase year over year.
Meanwhile, Meta-owned WhatsApp is working on new default chat themes for iOS users with an aim to enhance the user experience. The feature is currently under beta testing and the public users may get the feature with coming updates.
After the update, the total count of new default chat theme colours will reach 10. It includes Classic Green, White, Blue, Pink and Purple. The reports suggest that WhatsApp will add more colours after in the coming months. If you want to try these new features, the users can install the beta version of WhatsApp.
