Meta's Threads is now offering access to a new feature that lets users limit their postings to the Threads platform alone, excluding Instagram and Facebook, according to a report. Further, the report suggests that in order to improve privacy, users can choose not to have suggestions for their Threads postings made on other Meta platforms. The feature is currently rolling out to the users in a phased manner and will be coming to the devices in a few weeks.
To enable this privacy option, users can go to Privacy and select "Suggesting posts on other apps" after touching the two lines in the upper right corner of the Threads app.
The head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, has also revealed new features for Threads' platform. For a more flexible and user-friendly experience, users can now add multiple posts to a thread before publishing and use the copy-and-paste option for media attachments. Additionally, Mosseri revealed that users can click into likes or views on a post to investigate quotations and reposts, which deepens user engagement.
Meanwhile, according to Meta Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Threads has around 100 million monthly active users, showing the platform's growing popularity. Mosseri also stated that Meta is working on an application programming interface (API) for Threads in order to enable developers to create a wide range of experiences and apps for this platform. Although he noted that there may be concerns about more publisher content, Mosseri emphasised the importance of moving this initiative forward.
In addition, Meta is focusing on Instagram, and Messenger is planning to integrate AI into its social media platforms. It will also add an AI Friend to Instagram, which can be personalised by the user.
