JE Technology Desk: Microsoft’s gaming console Xbox, which is currently in the news for the Activision Blizzard takeover for a whopping $69 billion, has reportedly introduced a new voice reporting feature, which will now help users to capture and then report offensive in-game voice chats. The feature will be available starting this week and will be available for the Alpha and Alpha-skip Xbox Insiders.
The Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One players will be able to use this function to record a 60-second in-game video clip that they feel to be in violation of the company’s official Community Standards and submit it as proof to the Xbox Safety Team for review.
"Starting this week, we are releasing a new platform-wide voice reporting feature to Alpha and Alpha-skip Xbox Insiders," the company said in a blog post on Wednesday.
"This feature equips Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One players with the ability to capture a 60-second video clip of an in-game voice incident that they believe violates our Community Standards and submit it as evidence to our Xbox Safety Team for review."
The purpose of the feature is to increase player comfort when joining the multiplayer chat. The tool, which is available in thousands of games with multiplayer chat capability, enables users to report rude or abusive in-game exchanges between players.
