Motorola has launched the Edge 70 Pro in India, adding a new option to its premium lineup. The smartphone comes in three Pantone-curated colours and focuses on delivering a balance of performance, battery life, and camera capabilities. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8000 series chipset and packs a large 6,500mAh battery. The device also features a triple rear camera setup, led by a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-710 sensor. To handle heat during heavy usage, Motorola has included a vapour chamber cooling system.

Price And Availability

The Motorola Edge 70 Pro starts at Rs. 38,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, while the 12GB + 256GB model is priced at Rs. 41,999. Buyers can get an instant discount of up to Rs. 2,000 using Axis Bank or HDFC Bank cards, or opt for an exchange bonus of up to Rs. 2,000.

The smartphone will go on sale in India from April 29 and is available in Pantone Lilly White, Pantone Tea, and Pantone Titan finishes.

Display And Software

The handset features a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED display with a Super HD resolution of 1,272x2,772 pixels. It supports up to a 144Hz refresh rate in supported apps and offers up to 5,200 nits of peak brightness. The display also includes a 360Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+ support, and 100 percent DCI-P3 colour coverage, along with SGS certifications for reduced blue light and motion blur.

The device runs on Android 16-based Hello UI, and Motorola is promising up to three years of OS updates and security patches.

Performance And Build

Under the hood, the phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme chipset, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage. It also comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.

In terms of durability, the Edge 70 Pro carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, along with MIL-STD 810H certification.

Cameras

For photography, the smartphone offers a triple rear camera setup. This includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with a 122-degree field of view and autofocus, and a third sensor that hasn’t been detailed yet.

On the front, it features a 50-megapixel camera with autofocus for selfies and video calls. The phone can record videos at up to 4K at 60fps.

Battery And Connectivity

The Motorola Edge 70 Pro is backed by a 6,500mAh battery with support for 90W wired fast charging and 5W reverse wired charging. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and a USB Type-C port, along with support for GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo.

It also includes standard sensors like a proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, and e-compass. The phone measures 162.7x75.6x6.99mm and weighs around 183g.
