JE Technology Desk: Nothing Phone (2) has got the tech fraternity ringing for a while now. And it seems the furore will not settle before its launch. But will it act as a worthy successor to the Nothing Phone (1)? How do the specifications and expected price of the upcoming device compare with its predecessor? Well, here is a report to answer these questions.
Nothing Phone (2) vs Phone (1) Specifications (Expectations)
According to Nothing, the Phone (2) will have a 6.7-inch screen that will be 0.15 inches bigger than the Phone (1). Under the hood, the device is expected to have a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip compared to the Snapdragon 778G+ on the current model.
Coming to the software, the Phone (1) runs on Nothing OS 1.5, and the Phone (2) will have Nothing OS 2.0 out of the box. It will have a 4700mAh battery compared to the 4500mAh of the Phone (1). Nothing hasn't shared any update on the camera specifications of the Phone (2) but promised 4K 60 FPS recording. The current model sports a 50MP + 50MP back camera and 16MP front selfie shooter.
Nothing OS 2.0
Recalling a past tweet, Nothing CEO Carl Pei shared that the update would roll out for the Nothing Phone (1) by the end of August.
The London-based phone company joined hands with Swedish House Mafia to announce that the upcoming device will have an exclusive ringtone Sound Pack. The company announced "Glyph Composer," which will allow users of the smartphone to customise the sounds. "Tap the pads to trigger different light and sound combinations and compose your own Glyph Ringtone," Nothing tweeted. The OS will focus on fluidity and productive features with aesthetics, according to 91Mobiles.
Nothing Phone (2) vs Phone (1) Expected Price
While we do not have official details on the price of the Phone (2), reports speculate that it could be priced in the sub-Rs 40,000-45,000 price point. For comparison, the current model is selling at a starting price of under Rs 30,000 on Flipkart.
Speaking of more updates, Phone (2) pre-orders are now live on the e-commerce website - Flipkart. Users can pre-book a device for themselves by paying Rs 2,000. The smartphone is all set to hit the Indian floors on July 11.
