OnePlus 12 Launch: Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus launched the OnePlus 12 5G in its homeland earlier this month. Soon after the release, the rumour mill started speculating about the global launch date of the phone. And to shut these speculations, a company official has now confirmed the release date of the flagship smartphone. This could likely coincide with the India launch date of the upcoming handset.

OnePlus 12, 12R Release Date Tipped

According to Dutch publication Hardware Info, the company confirmed the release at its Never Settle Summit in Antwerp, Belgium. The special event was organised to celebrate the company's tenth anniversary. Alexander Vanderhaeghe, Country Manager for OnePlus Benelux, confirmed the update that the OnePlus 12 and 12R will launch globally on January 23.

This update comes on the expected lines after tipster Max Jambor shared on X (formerly Twitter) that the OnePlus 12 series will launch in India on January 23. Plus, the report noted the date will coincide with the announcement of the OnePlus 11R, a different strategy than the China release. Besides the new OnePlus 12 series phones, the firm could also introduce the OnePlus Open in a black edition in Europe.

OnePlus 12 Specifications (Expected)

The Chinese model has a 6.82-inch AMOLED QHD+ 120Hz screen with a maximum peak brightness of up to 4,500 units. Under the hood, it sports a 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. It runs on ColorOS 14 based on Android 14. Moving to the battery, the OnePlus 12 sports a 5,400mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging. Speaking of optics, a 50MP main, 48MP ultrawide and 64MP 3x telephoto lens will sit on the rear, and a 32MP selfie shooter will be there inside the punch hole.

OnePlus 12 5G Price (Expectations)

The handset carries a starting price of 4,299 yuan (roughly Rs 50,700) in China. However, a reader must note that the price will likely be on the higher side in India. No details about the price of the OnePlus 12R are live at the moment.
