OnePlus has officially launched its latest flagship smartphone—the OnePlus 15—in India. The phone follows the OnePlus 13 and arrives just weeks after its China debut, keeping the same top-tier specifications. More importantly, it’s the first smartphone in India to feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, setting a new benchmark for performance and efficiency.

The OnePlus 15 sports a 6.78-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 165 Hz. The panel boasts a peak brightness of 1,800 nits, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and adaptive refresh that can drop to 1 Hz for power savings. Designed with the company’s new “Sun Display” technology, it ensures visibility even under harsh sunlight. The screen also comes with Eye Comfort and Motion Cues features aimed at reducing strain during extended gaming or viewing sessions.

Powering the phone is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC built on a 3nm process, paired with the Adreno 840 GPU and a dedicated Touch Response chip for ultra-smooth input performance. The device supports up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. To keep temperatures in check, OnePlus has equipped it with a large 5,731 sq mm 3D vapour chamber as part of its 360 Cryo-Velocity Cooling system.

On the software front, the handset runs OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 and integrates AI-driven tools such as Plus Mind, Gemini AI, AI Portrait Glow, and AI PlayLab, enhancing productivity and personalisation.

The OnePlus 15’s camera setup is equally premium. The triple rear system features a 50MP Sony IMX906 main sensor, a 50MP Samsung JN5 telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom, and another 50MP ultra-wide lens offering a 116-degree field of view. The phone can record 8K video at 30 fps and 4K at 120 fps. On the front, a 32MP Sony IMX709 sensor handles selfies and 4K video recording at up to 60fps.

Battery life gets a major boost thanks to the 7,300mAh silicon-carbon cell that supports 120W SuperVOOC wired and 50W AirVOOC wireless charging. OnePlus claims a full charge takes under 40 minutes.

Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and USB 3.2. The device also includes an in-display ultrasound fingerprint scanner and boasts IP66, IP68, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.
