OnePlus enthusiasts have a new reason to be excited about OxygenOS 16, the next iteration of the Android 16-based version. It was recently reported that the OS would pack in Google Gemini along with OnePlus AI integration to offer a smarter, personalised assistant experience for users. The announcement was posted on X and Instagram, boasting that with Google Gemini ‘your planner, assistant and manager’ is always at your service in one place.

How Google Gemini Works with OnePlus AI

Integration of the two could bring a more contextual and personalised experience to tasks. For example, Google Gemini can be instructed to plan a five-day trip to Paris. The itinerary will be customised by the AI based on what all is saved in the OnePlus Mindspace, something like museums, landmarks and restaurants.

That’s not to say Google Gemini will only offer generic suggestions; instead, it will leverage your saved data, past activities and context to surface very personalised ideas. From itinerary planning to daily activities, the AI assistant can help you get things done with better and more practical outputs.

Features Highlighted in the Announcement

Personalised Trip Planning: Use Mindspace content for customised itineraries.

Context-Aware Assistance: AI understands saved preferences and data.

All-in-One Management: Plan, schedule, and manage tasks from a single interface.

OnePlus has stressed that this integration is what will make OnePlus AI more than just a voice control module and into an intelligent assistant based on tasks.

OxygenOS 16 Beta and Expected Launch

As of now, OxygenOS 16 is in closed beta form and it’s only available for a few select models such as the OnePlus 13 and 13S, which means a small number of users can try out the update to help identify bugs.

OnePlus is yet to announce the open beta and stable dates, but according to reports:

Open Beta: Likely in October 2025

Stable Rollout: Expected by end of 2025

When published, OxygenOS 16 will feature Google Gemini as well as all the goodness we included from Android 16, such as polished UI, improved performance optimisations and better privacy functions.

Why This Matters

The fact that OnePlus is bringing in Google Gemini directly to OxygenOS 16, shows the company's priority is on AI-based personalised content. Their staff will get smarter recommendations and contextual responses and all of it is in one space, unifying OnePlusMindspace with the most powerful AI.

For those who have been waiting anxiously for the next OnePlus update, OxygenOS 16 looks to be a biggie—not only in terms of design and performance, but when it comes to intelligent user assistance that's tailor-made for your current context.
