OnePlus, which has already teased its first-ever foldable phone after Samsung, Tecno, Oppo and Motorola have introduced their iterations, will reportedly delay the launch. The OnePlus Open, the upcoming phone may be delayed from the reported August 29 date, and the new developments announced that the launch date will be pushed to next month.
Why Will The OnePlus Open Smartphone Be Delayed?
According to the reports, the upcoming smartphone was all set to be launched, but the company, at the last moment decided to shift the display vendor from BOE to using panels to Samsung. The report also suggests that OnePlus noticed that the performance of the BOE display was not up to the mark that it expected, and as a result, Samsung is choosing the Samsung panels.
In the latest update, OnePlus has already started testing the Samsung-made display panels, and the brand may announce further details in the coming weeks, and it also seems that the company is planning a big launch event as well.

The company announced its plans to enter the fold segment back at the launch event of the OnePlus 11 series and has also showcased the concept phones at the MWC 2023. The company also aims to step into different categories this year, and hence introduce a premium foldable device this year.

According to the reports, the OnePlus Open will be powered by the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and will compete with Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. It is also said that the smartphone will carry a 2K AMOLED display and a smoother 120 Hz refresh rate as well.

It is also speculated that the OnePlus Open’s camera will also be Hasselblad. We are also expecting that it may get a bigger battery in the segment.
