OnePlus Fold, the company's first foldable phone, which is expected to be unveiled in August, has already been a hot topic of speculation. According to the report, the OnePus Fold would include a massive 7.8-inch foldable primary display and a 6.3-inch cover display. It is also stated that the foldable will have an alert slider and a premium glass sandwich design.
According to the popular tipster OnLeaks, the smartphone will get a 7.8-inch FHD+ display with a refresh rate panel of 1900 x 2100 pixels along with a refresh rate panel of 120 Hz and LTPO technology. Further, it also mentioned that the OnePlus Fold’s cover display is likely to get a 6.3-inch display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, but will miss out on LTPO characteristics.
Under the hood, the OnePlus Fold is expected to feature the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with up to 16 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, which is similar to the current flagship OnePlus 11. Further, the report stated it would be running on Android 13-based OxygenOS 13. The OnePlus Fold is expected to be backed by a 4,800 mAh battery along with 67W fast charging support with the help of a Type-C port. It is also expected that the smartphone may support wireless charging and reverse charging.
However, there is no official confirmation about the launch date of the OnePlus Fold but the report suggests that the smartphone is likely to be unveiled in August this year as a promising competitor to Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Meanwhile, South Korean tech giant Samsung is all set to launch its next-gen Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Flip 5, Tab S9 series, earbuds, and Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 at the Unpacked 2023 event in the last week of July.
