OnePlus, a Chinese smartphone maker, has grabbed headlines in the past for a large-scale green line issue that plagued select OnePlus devices in recent times. As a part of its crisis resolution measures, the company announced free screen replacement for affected users. In the latest move, the company is expanding its OnePlus Red Cable Club benefit of screen upgrades to the OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 10 Pro and OnePlus 11.

According to Android Authority, the conditions to avail of these services remain the same as earlier. The product must be free from damage or should not have been repaired via unauthorised channels. For a quick recap, the 'Lifetime Free Screen Upgrade' will be available for an eligible OnePlus device if it does not have "screen oxidation, is not assembled, or is not disassembled privately".

The pre-emptive display replacement initiative involves three stages. The first includes a comprehensive evaluation of the display's reliability and performance. The eligible users can get a "new advanced display panel" with enhanced colours and durability specially made to "perform well in high humidity and temperatures". The service also includes in-depth cleaning of the OnePlus device.

The company has reportedly worked with suppliers for these new screens that are more resilient to "moisture and environmental conditions". Users can visit the authorised service points to determine if their OnePlus device is at risk. However, do note that devices with "human-caused damages, such as drops or liquid intrusion" are not eligible for this benefit. These can be repaired with the standard repair protocol.
