OnePlus Free Screen Replacement Policy: OnePlus, a Chinese smartphone maker, announced its "lifetime screen warranty" for users affected by the green line defect. In the latest move to improve its commitment, the company is now offering free screen upgrades on select OnePlus smartphones to prevent the issue in the first place. Users of eligible smartphones can take advantage of the cleaning and maintenance services at the service point.

OnePlus Lifetime Free Screen Upgrade Offer: Eligible Devices

According to the offer spotted on the RCC page by X (formerly called Twitter) user Starcommander, the Lifetime Free Screen Upgrade is available via an upgrade invitation for OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 8T, OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9R, subject to OnePlus terms. For context, the Red Cable Club is limited to India and the offer is available in the country, according to Android Authority.

These users "who have been using the phone normally, if your device does not have screen oxidation, is not assembled, or is not disassembled privately, you can enjoy free screen upgrades and cleaning and maintenance services in the service center," the text in the screengrab read. OnePlus also shared details about the Free Screen Diagnostics and Service Initiative with the news outlet.

The initiative involves three-step services. In the Comprehensive Diagnostics stage, a thorough performance and reliability evaluation of the screen is conducted. An eligible user can claim a "new advanced display panel" to enhance the performance, colours and durability with a screen "specifically engineered to perform well in high-humidity and high-temperature environments".

The process also involves deep cleaning of the handset to ensure it performs at its peak potential. Eligible users can visit a OnePlus service centre to determine if the device is at risk of a possible malfunction. Devices that may have damages induced by humans including "drops or liquid intrusion" will not receive the free screen upgrade. These handsets will be repaired as per the standard after-sales process.
