Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has faced criticism from users for a widespread green line issue on older OnePlus phones lately. While reports of such instances continue to crop up, it seems OnePlus may have another issue to address at a larger level. In a recent X (formerly called Twitter) post, @OnePlusClub highlighted cases of the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 10 series smartphones facing motherboard issues.

According to OnePlus Club, the company is not offering any support in these cases. The X account marked the situation as "really concerning", as "users are left with no solution" in this case. In a screenshot shared on the OnePlus Community, the account with the name 'Rahul G21' flagged that their OnePlus 10 Pro 5G died in August 2024.

As per the account's screenshot, the 10 Pro suddenly switched off and refused to turn back on even after multiple attempts. Upon reaching out to the service centre, the user was informed that the "motherboard was unresponsive". In a second instance, another user (dwipdeshmane) on the Community forum posted the experience after installing an update.

After slight usage after the update, the phone reportedly started to "beep and froze" and the attempt to restart the phone failed due to the motherboard issue. As per the user, the Season Mall Magarpatta service centre shared a quote of Rs 42,000 to fix the problem. A third user (Ankeetbohra007) said the OnePlus 10 Pro's motherboard faced an issue while charging. These are among a few reports on online platforms.

In another case, X user Abhishek Rajvanshi posted that their OnePlus 9 Pro's motherboard was declared dead because of the software issue. The repair cost was Rs 27,000, according to @its_Rajvanshi07. At the time of writing, OnePlus has not shared a statement or proper resolution for the issue. Amid the rising complaints, an X user reminded people of days when POCO phones faced similar issues and said on a sarcastic note: "They got this new feature from POCO."
