Oppo is all set to expand its Reno lineup in India with the launch of the Reno 16 series later this week. The upcoming range will include the Oppo Reno 16 and the Oppo Reno 16c. Ahead of the official unveiling, the company has shared fresh details about the standard Reno 16, revealing that the Indian version will differ from the model sold in China.

One of the biggest changes is the processor. While the Chinese variant is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super chipset, the Oppo Reno 16 arriving in India will instead feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. Built on a 4nm process, the octa-core chip reaches clock speeds of up to 2.8GHz. Oppo claims it delivers up to 27 per cent better CPU performance, 30 per cent faster graphics rendering, and as much as 65 per cent higher AI performance compared to the previous generation.
The company has also confirmed that the handset will debut with Android 16-based ColorOS 16 out of the box. Alongside the latest software, the Reno 16 will introduce a range of AI-powered features, including AI Recording Sticker, AI Scan, AI Voice Translation, AI Menu Translation, AI Bill Manager, and AI Mind Pilot. These tools can be accessed using the dedicated AI Snap Key.
Oppo is also bringing a new security feature called Oppo Lock to the smartphone. Designed as an advanced theft protection system, it allows users to remotely lock the device and activate a SIM-removal lock for added security if the handset is lost or stolen.
The Oppo Reno 16 series is scheduled to launch in India on July 2 at 12 pm IST. On the camera front, the standard model will feature a triple rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor. It will be accompanied by a 50-megapixel telephoto portrait camera offering 3.5x optical zoom with an 85mm equivalent focal length, along with a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera.

When it comes to the design of the product, the Oppo Reno 16 is said to feature the company's HoloVerse 3D design with a floating 3D glitter finish. Once launched, the Reno 16 series will be available through Amazon and Flipkart. Buyers will have the option to choose from the following colourways: Starry White, Stellar Purple, and Twilight Violet colour options.
