Google Pixel 8a Leaks: Soon after announcing the date of Google I/O 2024, the tech giant is reportedly gearing up for the Pixel 8a announcement. In a recent report, Android Authority leaked the specifications of the handset that could debut in May. The device may offer a 6.1-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Plus, the panel may sport 1,400nits peak brightness while streaming HDR content.

The upcoming phone may also get DisplayPort functionality to mimic desktop mode, similar to Samsung and Motorola. Google smartphones are renowned for their cameras. This year, the Pixel 8a could carry forward the same lenses as the Pixel 7a - 64MP IMX787 primary (with OIS) and 13MP Sony IMX712 ultrawide. Beyond the display and the cameras, here are all the leaked details about the device.

Pixel 8a Specifications (Expectations)

The handset may offer a 6.1-inch OLED 120Hz screen with rounded edges, similar to the Pixel 8. Under the hood, the handset could have a Tensor G3 CPU, Titan M2 security chipset, and Mali-G715 GPU, according to the report. As for memory, the phone will likely have 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage (up to 256GB likely). It may run on a clean Pixel UI based on Android 14.

The 8a could offer a 5,000mAh battery with 27W wired charging. Apart from the 64MP + 13MP rear camera setup, the handset could have a 13MP selfie lens. Both sensors may support 4K video recording. Moving to connectivity, the phone may sport Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. As for extras, readers can expect stereo speakers, an IP67 rating, an in-screen fingerprint sensor and wireless charging on the Pixel 8a.

Google Pixel 8a Price (Expectations)

According to a WinFuture report, the smartphone could carry a starting price of 569.90 Euros (roughly Rs 51,500). Considering Google's track record, the phone may sit in the sub-Rs 45,000 price bracket in India. However, readers must digest the price and specifications with a pinch of salt as the brand has not confirmed these details.
