JE Technology Desk: POCO C51 debuted in India recently in the sub-Rs 8,000 price category. While it was still a good deal, the Chinese smartphone maker has gone a notch above and partnered with Airtel to bring the price to under Rs 6,000. The discounted device will sell on Flipkart and will be available to Airtel prepaid subscribers only.
According to Gadgets360, the device will be locked with an Airtel connection out of the box. As per POCO, the C51 will sell as "India's most affordable 4G smartphone" as an outcome of this partnership. Plus, exclusive benefits such as free 50GB of internet data and an additional Rs 750 off for Airtel users will be available with the purchase.
The mobile data benefits will roll out via five coupons of 10GB each, which can be availed once per month. This will be available to all Airtel subscribers, including new and existing ones and others considering a port-in. The POCO C51 will be locked for 18 months, and a buyer must insert the telecom service provider's SIM (within 24 hours of setup) and recharge with at least Rs 199 (Truly Unlimited pack) to use an additional SIM. We recommend that you carefully read the FAQs and Terms and Conditions to avoid a hassle-free experience and to avoid regrets of these restrictions after purchasing the device.
