Apple announced its Vision Pro headset at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 5 this year. And it seems before the release of the first "spatial computer," the company is working to bring a similar product. While there have been scant details about the rumoured device, MacRumors highlighted a few developments around the hardware and design of the project.
According to the report, the next generation of the Apple Vision Pro, reportedly codenamed "Project Alaska" is expected to be pretty similar to the first mixed reality headset. While the device identifier N109 could have curved body and button placements like the first-gen model, the speaker's site could differ. The initial designs of the second-gen model miss out on the round space, which may sport the speakers on the Vision Pro, according to the report.
As a replacement for this, the temples may be "flat and uniform" in size, as per MacRumors. Documents attached with the product hint that it may arrive with an external speaker. Secondly, there could be changes in the strap design. The 2nd-gen model could offer flat straps like laptop bags. In the past, the rumour mill has added that the model could be cheaper than expected. Hence, comparatively less complicated straps could offer smoother mass production capabilities to reduce costs.

On the expected lines, the successor to the Vision Pro could have an exterior battery unit. Speaking of connectivity, the model could have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, Ultra-low Latency Audio (ULLA) and more. As for sensors, it may sport a compass, magnetometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor and more, as per the report.

As for the specifications, the model could have dual micro OLED screens, one TrueDepth sensor, four Computer Vision (CV) optics, two RGB cameras, dual low-light infrared illuminators and more. It will likely step in the product validation testing (PVT) stage in 2025. A release could happen a year after that (or late 2025). A user must take these details with a pinch of salt as these are not from official channels.
Apple Vision Pro (1st Gen) Price
Coming to the first-gen Vision Pro, the product is set to make an official debut in the United States early next year at a starting price of $3,499. You can read in detail about the headset in this report.
