Qualcomm is a new player in the laptop chips market and made its debut last year only. While the performance of the chips, the Snapdragon X Elite, was good, with a phenomenal battery life, there were a few things that did not go in its favor, firstly gaming and then its launch price. The chip maker has finally planned to address these issues this year with its brand new offer: The Snapdragon X (model X1-2E-100).
Snapdragon X Technicalities
The Qualcomm Snapdragon X processor features 8 Oryon CPU cores running at 3.0 GHz, with a total cache of 30 MB and an impressive 135 GB/s memory bandwidth. Its NPU delivers up to 45 TOPS, nearly 3.7X faster than the Intel Core Ultra 7, according to the company. Built on a 4nm process, it’s designed to be energy-efficient. The Qualcomm Adreno GPU provides strong performance, reaching up to 1.7 TFLOPS.

This chip also includes advanced Bluetooth features like Bluetooth 5.4, Qualcomm Aqstic audio, and aptX Audio support. For cameras, it offers an Integrated Always-Sensing ISP with 18-bit depth, MIPI camera support, and 4K HDR video capture, ensuring high-quality webcam performance. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 7, and 5G.
Alongside laptops, the Snapdragon X will also power mini desktop PCs, expanding Qualcomm’s presence in the PC market, especially in small offices and homes. Global launches will begin this month, with partners like Acer, ASUS, HP, DELL, and Lenovo. Qualcomm expects over 100 designs by 2026, positioning the Snapdragon X as a strong competitor to Intel, AMD, and Apple.
