Reliance Jio has introduced prepaid plans featuring complimentary Netflix subscriptions, marking the first time such offerings are available for prepaid customers. The plans include a Netflix mobile-only subscription with the Rs 1,099 plan and access to Netflix Basic with the Rs 1,499 plan, both valid for 84 days. This move provides over 400 million Jio prepaid users with access to Netflix content.

For those unaware, Netflix offers a wide selection of top-notch episodes and films from all around the world in addition to amazing Indian titles, including international successes like Wednesday, Money Heist, Squid Game, Never Have I Ever, Never Have I Ever 2, and many others. With this move, the telecom operator aims to help get access to the video streaming services along with the other phone services.

"The introduction of Netflix packages with our prepaid plan is just another sign of our determination. Our collaboration with global partners such as Netflix has increased in strength, and together we are developing use cases for the rest of the globe to emulate," said Kiran Thomas, CEO, of Jio Platforms Limited.

"We have released a number of successful local series, documentaries, and films that have been well received by people across India. Our collection of must-see stories is expanding, and our new prepaid bundle agreement with Jio will provide more users with access to this exciting lineup of Indian content, as well as some outstanding stories from across the world," said Tony Zameczkowski, Vice President of APAC Partnerships for Netflix.

The California-based entertainment company is also entering local markets by including material in several languages. Films such as Beast, Godfather, Dhamaka, Love Today, Major, Dasara, and Virupaksham were earlier announced in Tamil and Telugu.
