New Delhi | Jagran Tech Desk: In a double blow to its users, Reliance Jio has reduced the validity period of its Rs 149 monthly plan after the company started to charge IUC fees for calls to other company users. The validity has been reduced to 24 days as opposed to 28 days. The latest plan has been updated on its website.
As of now, Reliance Jio reduced the validity of the Rs 149 plan and added 300 IUC minutes. As a result, users will be able to call other networks as well. The company is likely to reduce the validity of other existing prepaid plans soon and add IUC calling minutes to it.
When it comes to the company's all-in-one packs, it has launched Rs 222, Rs 333, Rs 444 and Rs 555 plans. In each of its plan, users are being offered 1,000 minutes of free calling to other networks. All of these plans come with different validity.

However, the company had introduced all-in-prepaid service plans to woo its users. The plans were launched separately for JioPhone and smartphone users. The company had also said that it is offering relief to its users who have recharged before October 10, will not have to recharge the IUC pack for calling other networks till their validity period.
In IUC pack, separate calling minutes are offered to users for making calls to other networks like Vodafone, Idea, Airtel, etc. In return, Reliance Jio is providing additional data to users as compensation.

Meanwhile, rival companies have joked about Jio on social media after it imposed an interconnect charge following which Reliance Jio also hit back at other telecom companies. Following the order of Telecom Regulator TRAI, Jio announced the collection of IUC from its users. Under IUC, Jio users are charged 6 paise per minute to other network operators.
