Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani has announced a slew of new updates for the Jio 5G users at the company’s 46th AGM event. In the latest update, the highly anticipated 5G prepaid and postpaid plans are likely to be available by December this year. Further, the company has also announced Jio AirFiber, a wireless internet service that is going to launch on September 19, Ganesh Chathurthi.

For those unaware, the India-based network operator started rolling out a 5G network last year and has promised to cover the nation with its network by the end of December this year. Mukesh Ambani has now announced that the company has managed to cover 96 per cent of the census towns with 5G and will complete it by December.

"We started rolling out 5G last October. Jio 5G is already available in more than 96 per cent of the census towns in our country after only nine months. And we're on schedule to finish by December when the entire nation will be covered. This makes Jio 5G the world's quickest 5G rollout of this size,” he stated.

“From December of this year, we would be able to meet every demand for Jio 5G broadband connections across the country,” he hinted at future ambitions.

Meanwhile, Mukesh Ambani also promised that the Jio users will be getting AI every time and everywhere. “ Today, Jio promises Artificial Intelligence (AI) to everyone and everywhere,” he said. Meanwhile, the company has also announced the JioAirFiber which will be introduced on September 19, on the occasion of Ganesh Chathurthi. It is expected to be available on the Reliance Jio outlets. The company has not announced any price at the time of writing.
