Samsung A55 5G Launched In India: Samsung, a South Korean smartphone maker, has launched the Galaxy A55 in India. The smartphone offers an AMOLED screen with a 50MP primary camera on the rear. It is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy A54 in India, which sits in the sub-Rs 40,000 price bracket. For starters, Galaxy A55 offers a metal frame and glass back.

Based on the track record, the handset could take on the OnePlus 12R, Vivo V30 Pro, iQOO 12 and more in the premium price category. For buyers who plan to buy a smartphone in that price bracket, here are the specifications of the newly launched Galaxy A55 5G.

Samsung Galaxy A55 Specifications

The smartphone has a 6.6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. Under the hood, it gets an Exynos 1480 chipset. The phone runs on the latest Android 14-based custom One UI 6.1. Samsung has promised four Android and five years of security updates with the A55. The Galaxy A55 offers a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging. As for the optics, the smartphone offers a 50MP OIS + 12MP + 5MP setup on the back and a 32MP selfie shooter.

It gets Night Portrait mode and 12-bit HDR video support. The device sports Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, a microSD card slot and a USB Type-C port for charging. The IP67-rated offering also gets an in-screen fingerprint reader. As for extras, it gets Samsung Knox, Galaxy's multi-layer security platform, with features like Auto Blocker for protection against harmful apps, Private Sharing and more.

Samsung Galaxy A55 Price (To Be Announced)

The handset will be available in 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB storage trims. It comes in two colour options: Awesome Iceblue and Awesome Navy shades. Samsung has not shared any details on the India pricing of the device at the time of filing.
