Samsung announced a range of Galaxy AI features at the Unpacked 2024 event in January. To make these even more accessible across Samsung S24 phones, the company is integrating them with its in-house voice assistant Bixby. With the new tweaks, users can activate Galaxy AI features via voice commands. According to Samsung, this hands-free operation will allow users to eliminate the need to physically search for these features on a smartphone.

For instance, Live Translate can be opened via voice commands for real-time translations, spelling correction, summarising webpages and more. Moreover, by simply saying, "Hi Bixby, turn on Interpreter," you can use the bilingual speech-to-text translation feature. It will save the time of manually opening the feature in an S24 phone.

Commands such as "Call Alex Kim in Korean" for Call Assist and "Translate the first file in English" for Translate Assist are among a few examples highlighted by Samsung. You can also use Note Assist by asking Bixby to summarise, correct spellings or create a cover of a note. Similar capabilities can also be used in Browsing Assist.

According to Samsung, the Bixby activation feature will be available in languages including: "Chinese, English (US, UK, and India), French, German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (Spain) and Spanish (Latin America)." Galaxy AI features are currently available on the Samsung Galaxy S24, Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus, and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra launched last month.

Some features highlighted above will also arrive on the latest Samsung foldables, tablets, and the S23 series. However, the company has not confirmed a detailed list of the models (series-wise) that will receive the update. AI features may be limited on these phones due to hardware limitations. The Galaxy AI update for eligible premium phones and tablets of Samsung will likely roll out in the first half of this year.
