Samsung Galaxy S10 5G was the first 5G flagship smartphone of the South Korean giant. It was widely available in global markets after a release in its homeland in April 2019. As the phone has now completed over four years since launch, the company will no longer roll out updates for the smartphone unless it is an exceptional case.

According to Gizmochina, the company sacked software support for Galaxy S10, S10 Plus and S10e smartphones in August last year. On the other hand, Galaxy S10 5G and S10 Lite still received updates after the stated period. As the phone has already reached many of its software milestones, Samsung is finally pausing OS updates for the S10 5G.

The news outlet added that the company dispersed three Android versions via the OTA updates to this smartphone that now boots on Android 12. While in the first three calendar years, the phone received monthly security patch updates. The frequency was altered to quarterly updates in the final year.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite will still get quarterly updates till the initial months of next year. The reason is - it debuted a year after the launch of the Galaxy S10 series. The phone currently runs on the latest Android 13. It was announced with Android 10.

Back to the Galaxy S10 5G, the phone debuted with a curved 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on the front. Under the hood, the phone runs on an octa-core Exynos 9820 chip. As for the optics, the phone launched with a triple camera setup - 12MP OIS primary + 16MP UW and 12MP telephoto lens, as per GSMArena. On the front, it has a 10MP front camera. Moving to the battery, the S10 5G housed a 4500mAh battery with 25W wired and 15W wireless charging.

Heading to the latest events, Samsung is all set to host the Unpacked 2023 event. The company will likely announce the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 at the event.
