Samsung is finally ready to pull back the curtain on one of its most anticipated innovations — the Galaxy Trifold. After facing delays last month, the Korean tech giant is now expected to showcase its first-ever triple-folding smartphone later this month, according to a new report from Bloomberg.
The Galaxy Trifold is likely to make its first public appearance at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in South Korea. The high-profile event, which hosts world leaders and top dignitaries, will give Samsung a global stage to flaunt its engineering prowess. However, the company isn’t planning a hands-on experience just yet — the Trifold is expected to be displayed behind glass, hinting that the device may still be in its pre-launch phase.
From what’s known so far, the Galaxy Trifold will feature a massive 10-inch OLED inner screen that folds inwards from both ends, protecting the display creases when shut. A 6.5-inch outer display will make it usable in a compact form. Under the hood, the phone is likely to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor and feature a 200-megapixel primary camera as part of a triple-lens setup. To support its unique design, the Trifold will house a segmented battery system, divided into three parts to maximise capacity.
Samsung may have pioneered foldable smartphones with the Galaxy Fold back in 2019, but it has fallen behind Huawei, which already launched its second-generation trifold, the Mate XTs, earlier this year. With the Galaxy Trifold, Samsung aims to reclaim its dominance in the foldable market before the year ends.
Earlier rumours hinted that the Trifold would only launch in China and South Korea, but newer reports suggest Samsung might opt for a wider release — though India’s inclusion remains uncertain. Pricing is expected to hover around $3,000 (roughly Rs 2.64 lakh), placing it firmly in the ultra-premium segment. For comparison, Huawei’s Mate XTs starts at 17,999 yuan (around Rs 2.22 lakh).

If Samsung’s plans stay on course, the Galaxy Trifold could redefine the foldable category once again — this time, in three parts.
