Samsung has introduced a new addition to its F-series family with the launch of the Galaxy F17 5G in India. As a feature-packed yet affordable proposition, the phone delivers a premium design, robust performance, and a sprinkling of Galaxy AI features at mid-range prices.

Price and availability in India

Samsung Galaxy F17 5G costs ₹14,499 for the 4GB + 128GB variant and ₹15,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant. Customers have Neo Black and Violet Pop colour options. The phone can be purchased now from the Samsung India website, Flipkart, and some offline stores. Samsung is also providing ₹500 cashback for HDFC Bank cards and UPI payments and no-cost EMI plans for up to six months.

Design and display

Measuring 7.5mm thick and weighing 192g, the Galaxy F17 5G is among the thinnest phones in its segment. It comes with an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance and boasts a 6.7-inch FHD+ Infinity-U Super AMOLED screen with a 90 Hz refresh rate. It has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus that protects the screen and makes it resilient for everyday use.

Performance and software

Powering the device is the 5nm Exynos 1330 chip, coupled with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The phone also comes with One UI 7 based on Android 15, with Samsung guaranteeing six years of OS and security updates. It also features Galaxy AI tools such as Google Gemini and Circle to Search and support for Samsung Wallet with Tap & Pay.

Cameras

At the back, the Galaxy F17 5G has a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 5MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. There's a 13MP selfie camera for selfies and video calls.

Battery and connectivity

There is a 5,000mAh battery with support for fast charging via a 25W charger. There are 5G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, OTG, and USB Type-C connectivity options. Security is managed by a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
