Samsung AirDrop support update: Samsung has finally announced the rollout of a much-anticipated feature that fans and enthusiasts alike have been waiting for: AirDrop support for its Galaxy smartphone users. This feature will enable easier and seamless transfer between devices using the quick share option. The said feature will start coming out from March 23. Once the feature is live, Apple devices will appear in the Quick Share menu on their respective Galaxy devices and will enable sharing of multimedia with people using iPhones. This feature is similar to what Google Pixel 10 devices introduced recently.

On its announcement, the South Korean smartphone maker expressed, “AirDrop support will initially be available on the Galaxy S26 series, with expansion to additional devices to be announced at a later date.”
Countries Where AirDrop Facility Will Be Available
In a press release the South Korean tech giant said, “Samsung is introducing AirDrop support to the Galaxy S26 series, making it easier for users to share content between devices using Quick Share. " The feature will begin rolling out from March 23, starting in Korea. "With that said, the regions that this facility will be available in are Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan.
Currently the feature has been introduced in the latest Galaxy S26 series devices, giving its users the chance to share media and content seamlessly; you just need to access the Quick Share menu. The said rollout will begin starting March 23, starting from its home country, Korea, which will later extend to the countries mentioned above. After the rollout is complete for the Galaxy S26 series devices, its expansion to other devices will be announced soon. According to Samsung's press release.
The Google Pixel 10 Series Has Already Done It
Google seems to have taken a big step toward fixing the long-standing Android vs. Apple sharing problem. Since November last year, Pixel 10 users have been able to transfer files directly to iPhones using AirDrop without relying on any third-party apps.

What stands out is how natural the process feels. You can send files from a Pixel to an iPhone and get them back just as easily, with no extra hoops in between.
The process itself is simple. On the iPhone, AirDrop just needs to be set to “Everyone for 10 Minutes", and nearby Pixel devices start showing up as options. On the Pixel side, turning on visibility in Quick Share allows it to receive files from Apple devices.
This setup also extends beyond iPhones, working with iPads and Macs as well, making cross-device sharing between the two ecosystems far more convenient than it used to be.
