Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 Launch: Samsung has finally launched the much-anticipated Galaxy Z Flip 7, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the more affordable Z Flip 7 FE, in India and global markets. And while the design might look familiar at first glance, the Flip 7 brings some notable upgrades under the hood — and even on the outside.
A Fresh Take on the Cover Screen
One of the biggest visual upgrades is the new 4.1-inch edge-to-edge cover screen, which ditches the folder-shaped window from the Flip 6 for something sleeker and more practical. The main foldable display remains a gorgeous 6.9-inch AMOLED panel, but now both screens offer a buttery-smooth 120Hz refresh rate and can hit up to 2,600 nits of peak brightness — ideal for outdoor use.
Samsung also added Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the outer display to keep things scratch-resistant and durable.
Slim, Light, and Ready to Flip
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is Samsung’s slimmest Flip yet, measuring just 6.5 mm when unfolded — slimmer than the Flip 6’s 6.9 mm profile. When folded, it’s still compact at 13.7 mm, and it weighs just 188 grams. The Armour Aluminium frame and Armour FlexHinge help make it strong enough for everyday use without adding bulk.
Performance Powered by Exynos
Unlike the Fold 7, which runs on Snapdragon, the Flip 7 is powered by Samsung’s own 3nm Exynos 2500 SoC. Paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage, it's built to handle multitasking, gaming, and all the new Galaxy AI features with ease. And yes, it’s also one of the first Samsung phones to launch with Android 16 and One UI 8 out of the box.
Cameras & AI Tools You’ll Actually Use
Photography gets a boost, too. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 features a 50MP primary sensor with 2x optical-quality zoom, supported by a 12MP ultra-wide camera. A 10 MP selfie camera sits inside the foldable display.
Samsung’s ProVisual Engine adds AI-based editing and enhancement tools, and there's also a range of productivity features powered by Galaxy AI, like:
- Transcript Assist
- Note Assist
- Call Assist
- Live Translation
The Flip 7 also integrates Google Gemini AI features and supports Circle to Search. Samsung's new Now Bar and Now Brief help manage notifications and give personalized summaries of your day — right from the cover screen.
Battery, Pricing & Availability
The phone houses a 4,300 mAh battery, which is a welcome bump in capacity. It supports fast charging and all the wireless essentials.
In India, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 starts at ₹1,09,999 for the 12GB + 256GB model, and the 12GB + 512GB variant costs ₹1,21,999. Colours include Blue Shadow, Coral Red, Jet Black, and a mint green variant, which is exclusive to Samsung India’s website.
Pre-orders are live now, and sales begin July 25. If you pre-order before July 12, you can get the 512GB version at the price of the 256GB variant — not a bad deal.
