SAMSUNG'S Z lineup of foldable phones is due for an upgrade in 2023. Reports in the past have revealed details about these upcoming handsets. To add to that string, tipster Yogesh Brar shared leaks concerning the camera configurations of the foldable phones.

Brar, on Twitter, shared details of the back camera setup of the handsets. The Galaxy Z Fold5 could come with a 50MP primary sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide lens for a wide field of view. And lastly, a 10MP telephoto lens.

While the numbers are the same as the current Galaxy Z Fold4, we will have to see if upgrades arrive in the software or in the form of different versions of the lenses. The primary camera will support OIS like the Fold4. Coming to the Galaxy Z Flip 5, the handset is tipped to have a 12 MP primary lens and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor. Here too, the numbers remain the same as the Z Flip4.

Apart from the camera, the phones could have an improved hinge, new image sensors, and bigger outer displays. A custom-made Qualcomm Snapdragon for Galaxy will likely power the handsets.

Earlier leaks suggested that the US variants of both phones could come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The Z Fold5 will likely come with a 6.2 inch cover display and a 120Hz refresh rate, reports suggest.

Meanwhile, the foldable market is slowly witnessing competition as brands like Oppo and Tecno unveil their foldable phones. Oppo recently launched its Oppo Find N2 Flip. Tecno announced its Tecno Phantom V Fold 5G. However, these are early days.

We will have to wait to see how these products compete against Samsung's foldable handsets. The upcoming Z series phones will be the fifth-generation models from the foldable market champion.

Speaking of Samsung, in February 2023, the South Korean giant announced the launch of its flagship S23 series. The lineup has three handsets, with Galaxy S23 Ultra as the most premium offering.
