Galaxy AI Update: South Korean smartphone maker Samsung announced a host of AI features under its Galaxy AI umbrella at the Unpacked 2024 event in January. While the S24 series received the features out of the box, some older Samsung devices are gearing up for AI magic. Citing a community post (in Korean), 9To5Google reported that a Samsung staff has confirmed Galaxy AI is coming to the S22 and S21 series devices.
The One UI 6.1 update with Galaxy AI features will debut for the devices as Samsung earlier confirmed the features will arrive on "more" devices. As the models include flagship devices, the Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy Tab S8 FE and other similar devices will not be eligible for the update. However, the older models will not support full-fledged AI features like the S24 series.
The S22 Series, Fold/Flip 4 models and Tab S8 series will get 'S23 FE level AI', as per the translated post. The S23 FE misses out on the 'Instant Slow-Mo' feature among unsupported AI features. As per the note, here are the eligible devices.
- Samsung Galaxy S22
- Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus
- Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra
- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4
- Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S8
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Plus
