AI has now been a part of our daily life and people use is on a regular basis. People use it for school, work, writing, etc. there is no one who don’t know about the AI. And to stay up to date and keep ourselves updated with the time, people need to learn AI as soon as possible. And It looks like the Ministry of Education know it very well.
The new framework is being developed to include AI integration across grades as per the officials. They mentioned that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is set to introduce in the school’s curriculum. This will be implemented starting with the academic year (2026-27).
Education Secretary’s Take on AI Integration
The School Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar said that “We need to move fast so that students and teachers are properly aligned with this technology over the next two to three years. The challenge will be to reach out to over one crore teachers across the country and orient them in imparting AI-related education. The CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) is developing the framework for AI integration across grades,”.

And said that “A pilot project is already underway for teachers to use AI tools to prepare lesson plans. Our objective is to prepare both the learner and the teacher for the digital economy,”
Currently, CBSE schools offers AI as a skill subject from class 6 onwards. This is a 15 hour module that is taught to the students, however, students from class 9-12 also have it but as an optional subject.
NITI Ayog Report: AI and Jobs
NITI Ayog report also got Kumar’s comment on AI and jobs stating that around 2 Million traditional jobs can be replaced. But 8 Million new roles might emerge if the right ecosystem is created.

The report also suggested the collaborative India AI Talent Mission and the India AI Mission. It will also create partnerships academia, government and industry, to create an enabling ecosystem of compute infrastructure and data availability.
As per report, the coordinated leadership across the government and academia can be India’s future in the AI economy. This makes a sharp move taking India to lead for shaping the Global AI race.
