Elon Musk's X, formerly called Twitter, regularly grab headline in the media for adding new features to its X Premium service. However, the latest move comes as a gigantic blow to sex' workers who post content on X. According to TechCrunch, X is now restricting the reach of explicit content on the platform and flagging them as "sensitive material."

The report added that several accounts in the business of nudity on the platform claimed that their online activity is witnessing lower engagement and no appearance in searches despite not getting flagged. In a screenshot posted on X by @xDaily, the accounts that have a label contain sensitive media such as "violence, nudity, sexual behaviour, hateful symbols" and other forms of similar graphics.

Users can mark their media as sensitive, and the ones that pass the media policy are showcased on the platform. Posts from these accounts may be covered with a "sensitive content" warning to restrict users from viewing them. Plus, the text adds that the reach of the account and the content could be limited. The account and its posts may be excluded from the "For You and Following timelines, recommended notifications, trends, and search results."

For context, X's Premium offering promises better engagement and reach when compared with free users. Sex' workers posting such content on the platform aimed that it would protect them from censorship, unlike other social media competitors that deplatform or block them.

But with the leadership overhaul, the fears of these groups are turning true as X gets more strict on the subjects of nudity, pornography and other sexual content. An X account with the name - 'Mara Villana' flagged the same concern from her account and warned NSFW/SW accounts of the change.

The report noted that the words in the image may also trigger content warnings. On a related note, the company is also facing the heat to remove the content around the escalation in Gaza.
