Microsoft's acquisition of Activision, as well as the entire court action, are exposing a lot of sensitive material from the files. According to a recent update in the Microsoft vs. FTC case, Sony may debut its PlayStation 5 (PS5) Slim variant in the coming months. The tech giant filed filings in the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) vs Microsoft case that made this information public, according to The Verge.
Not only that, but the report also suggests that Sony may launch the PS5 Slim model at a price of $399.99, which is around Rs 44,999. The PS 5 console is the company’s latest premium offering and the disc variant is available at a price of Rs 54,999 in India, while the digital trim is available at a price of Rs 44,999.
"PlayStation also sells a less expensive Digital Edition for $399.99, and a PlayStation 5 Slim is likely to be released later this year at the same reduced price range," the filed documents suggest.
Insider Gaming said in 2017 that Sony was getting ready to release a PS5 with a removable disc drive in September 2023. The PS5 is anticipated to be sold separately without a disc drive or as a set, suggesting that the corporation may make the thinner model the standard. With this users will have the option to purchase a drive separately or as part of the package, as well as to add a drive at a later time if necessary.
Sony is preparing to release its PS-based handheld device, but it's highly doubtful that it would debut as a stand-alone console, according to a document released by Microsoft. The PlayStation Project Q, a Sony-created remote-play device, has been already confirmed by Microsoft documents. It would include native PS5 DualSense capabilities, such as assistance with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
