Sony PlayStation 5 Pro, the much-anticipated flagship gaming console is here. Sony has confirmed that the gaming console will launch on November 7, 2024, with improvements in performance, and visuals along with some changes to the design. It also comes with better graphics and frame rates compared to the PlayStation 5.
Speaking of the GPU, the PS5 Pro gets a 45 per cent fast rendering for buttery smooth gameplay along with 28 per cent faster memory compared to the PS5. The PS5 Pro also has advanced ray tracing capabilities for more realistic lighting shadows, reflections, and much more during gameplay.
Sony has also introduced the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), an AI tech for better visuals and enhanced frame rates. Sony has also stepped up the game by offering 8K resolution, Wi-Fi 7 and variable refresh rate with the PS5 Pro.

According to the blog post, Sony will be introducing over 50 game titles for the PS5 Pro including Marvel's Spider-Man 2, The Last of Us Part II Remastered, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and Assassin’s Creed: Shadows.
In terms of specifics, the console will get a 2TB SSD and will be fully compatible with the PS5 accessories including the controllers and PlayStation VR2. If you buy the console, you will get a DualSense wireless controller and a pre-installed copy of Astro’s Playroom.
Sony PS5 Pro is priced at $699.99 (roughly Rs 58,800) and will be available for pre-orders starting September 26. For those unaware, the company introduced the PS5 at a price of $499 four years ago. Sony has not announced the rollout but we could expect its India debut in early 2025. The move comes in when Sony sees a decline in sales.
