Spotify App Crashing On Android: If the Spotify beta app is crashing on your smartphone, you are not the only one. According to a report by 9To5Google, the testing app crashes even before opening fully for Android users. In some cases, the music streaming service becomes "completely inoperable". Spotify has not yet acknowledged the issue at a larger level via its popular social media handles at the time of filing.
According to the report, the app crashes in the initial seconds after a user opens it. The problem is reportedly limited to the "8.9.2.169" beta version. It seems the issue cropped up on December 30, 2023, and an official fix is not out yet. Several users on X (formerly Twitter) have shared a few steps to troubleshoot the problem.

Profiles on X suggest that users can try uninstalling and reinstalling the Spotify app. However, this does not fix the problem according to responses on the microblogging platform. "@SpotifyCares are there any known issues for the Spotify app on Android 14 / Pixel 7 Pro? The app keeps crashing on my phone (and did not in the past)," a user (@mrgnz) said.

"I tried all this. Force stop, clear cache, reboot, clear data, uninstall, install, login. Black screen and then a system notice that the app does not work," the account added. Another one said that all these fixes do not work and "a black screen" pops up for a few seconds. Responding to the user (@mrgnz), SpotifyCares said: "Hey there! Can you try logging out > restarting your device > logging in? Let us know how everything plays out."

A third user (@13sweetnothing_) posted: "@Spotify you've got a bug after your latest update.... app won't open and keeps crashing." One more user added that the app keeps crashing on the Pixel 8 Pro, and the problem may affect Indian users using the beta build.
According to 9To5Google, users can consider sideloading a previous version of the app to fix the problem. Plus, exiting the beta program on the Google Play Store, uninstalling the testing build and reinstalling the stable version may also fix the issue. However, this will delete the files stored offline on a device.
